On the 19 of June, 2015 the Board of Directors of "MegaFon" approved the acquisition of fixed line telecommunications provider Gars Telecom.

“It means that our companies are carrying on negotiates, not more or less, - says the CEO of Gars Telecom Pavel Gorenkov. - We consider highly constructive to pursue negotiations, having obtained the approval of the Board of Directors. Meanwhile, the negotiations don't indicate an occurrence of transaction. Which is evidenced by the absence of relevant application to the Federal Antimonopoly Service”.

According to Pavel Gorenkov the synergy of mutual efforts sounds promising: the combination of strong position of Gars Telecom in the corporate service market and the facilities of MegaFon are capable to vary the landscape of corporate telecommunications of the metropolitan region. However, it is premature to talk about any specific results, as long as the negotiations with MegaFon are in primary stage.
